St Georges exterior historic.

History

Southall has changed enormously since 1908 when St George's first opened its doors. Amid much social change and two world wars, it has remained a community of working people.

To celebrate the first one hundred years of the life of St George's, we embarked on an ambitious re-ordering of the church building. The aim was to make it a better place for the worship of God and service of the community for the next century. We installed modern heating, a kitchen and toilets, and put solar cells on the roof to generate electricity. In 2009 we undertook the restoration of our 1723 organ.
