St. George's in 1908

History

Southall has changed enormously since 1908 when St. George's first opened its doors (pictured right).

Amid much social change and two world wars, it has remained a community of working people.

To find out more about the story of Southall, St. George's and of course what God has done amongst his people,
read our brochure, written to celebrate our centenary.

100/100 Vision

What was the 100/100 Vision?

To celebrate the first 100 years of the life of St. George's we embarked on an ambitious re-ordering of the church building. The aim was to make it a better place for the worship of God and service of the community for the next 100 years.

What did we do?

In 2009 we undertook the restoration of our 1723 organ.

We also completed Phase One of the project having underfloor heating installed and creating new meeting rooms and a kitchen area.

In this picture you can see what a difference the new floor makes...

If you want to see all the changes which took place you can download our powerpoint show of the building changing.

In 2011 we completed Phase Two.

We finished fitting out the kitchen and we installed solar cells on to the church roof to generate electricity.
